What Causes Erectile Dysfunction?

27 May

If you’re experiencing symptoms of erectile dysfunction (ED), try not to worry too much about it. You’re certainly not alone, even if it feels like you are. It’s actually a very common condition, with NHS figures suggesting that half of all men between the ages of 40 and 70 will experience ED symptoms at some point during their lives.

But what causes erectile dysfunction? Typically, the cause of the problem is something physical, such as heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, smoking, alcoholism or substance abuse, sleep disorders, surgery or injuries near the pelvic area or spinal cord, or even sleep disorders.

However, you should also bear in mind that there are some psychological causes of the problem as well, such as stress, depression, anxiety or even relationship problems that arise through stress or poor communication.

It could even be a combination of the two – if, for example, you suddenly experience a physical condition that slows your responses sexually, you could start worrying and stressing out more about it, which could manifest as anxiety about maintaining an erection.

Luckily, there is something you can do if you are experiencing symptoms. First of all, make an appointment with your local GP so you can discuss the matter and chat to him about the benefits of herbal treatments for erectile dysfunction. One of the main benefits of taking this type of herbal Viagra is that you can avoid other more serious medication, which could have a range of side-effects. With herbal treatments, you can avoid side-effects basically altogether.
